The film
A year-long campaign built from nine departments, one anchor film, and forty cutdowns that ran everywhere candidates already were.
The problem on the table
A statewide system with 4,000 open roles and nine competing marketing budgets needed one voice without flattening nine distinct cultures.
How we made it
We built a campaign architecture first: one anchor documentary, nine department chapters, and a cutdown library mapped to each hiring channel. Filming ran across eleven weeks and four cities.
Behind the scenes
- Eleven weeks of filming across four Michigan cities with a rotating two-to-three person crew.
- Every department got a say in its own chapter; none got a say in the others.
- The cutdown library was cut for channel first and length second.
They gave nine very different departments one voice, and none of them felt overwritten.
