What They Carried Home
Family impact story for a capital campaign

The film
One family's fourteen months in and out of a pediatric oncology unit, and the people who became part of their household.
The problem on the table
The foundation had a pediatric tower campaign and a case statement no one was reading.
How we made it
We followed one family for eleven months with a two-person crew, filming in their home as often as in the hospital. Every frame was reviewed with the family and their care team before release.
Behind the scenes
- Eleven months of access with a two-person crew and a single hard rule: the family calls off any day, for any reason.
- Every cut was reviewed with the family and the care team before release.
- Home footage carried the emotional spine; the hospital footage carried the stakes.
We had a case statement nobody finished reading. The film gave donors something they could actually feel.
